Evening all,

I’m trying to move a bit of stuff(dining room table, couch, some boxes) from my mother’s house in Stockton to my place a few hours north. One of these would be awesome, but apparently U-haul won’t do a one-way rental on the Transits or F150s (according to the website at least)

I was thinking that a new transit would be better on fuel (and comfort) than a beat-to-hell, old Express with a box stapled to the chassis. Are there any rental companies I haven't thought of who still rent to 20-year-olds, and have a van of this sort? Are the box vans not as bad on fuel as I would assume?

It’s been a few years since I was after a one way van rental so this may not still apply, but at the time nobody offered vans one way. Good luck to you though.

Just get the small box truck. You won’t have to worry about studying everything and you don’t have to do the return trip

Why not just get the small truck? Isn’t it the same price?

Enterprise rents Nissan NV2500s, but probably not to 20-year olds.

Recently drove a 10 ft Uhaul box van 800 miles. Yeah, your milage will be only like 12 mpg, but gas is so cheap right now anyway. Gas cost me $150 total, but I was towing a car and crossed the Appalachians. I recommend U haul bc they tend to have newer trucks than Penske or Budget.

You can’t go wrong with the full size Ford E series (as pictures above).

Enterprise is better than the others in regards to age. They require you to be 21 versus 25 with most of the other big ones.

Good luck finding a one way. That's a vehicle that doesn't rent very often and they don't want one sitting around in some random place.

It's about .25 per mile cheaper AND presumably better on fuel

Penske has unlimited mileage and guaranteed auxiliary input. That's where I'm at right now at least

That would be fair if there weren't Transits for rent both in my town and in Stockton.

I’ll have to agree with you there. Gotta love rental companies right?
